Check Out Whitechapel's Second Studio Update!

We're drawing closer and closer to the release of Whitechapel's new album, and the guys are doing a good job keeping anticipation levels high. They released the second part of a series of studio updates, this time mainly focuses on guitars, with a bit of the drums in there too. You get a great peek at some of the low tuned riffs and more technical leads they are throwing in, with a nice ambient acoustic part int here as well!

Update From Arbiter As Well!

Being a 6 gentleman band does have it's perks. Arbiter, who released a dual album earlier this year are working on another pair of albums, this time though the band is split into two teams for the writing process to see how things work out and give everyone a chance to shine during writing.

August Burns Red Studio Update!

August Burns Red posted two studio updates from their Rescue & Restore recording sessions, featuring Matt Greiner on drums and Jake Luhrs on vocals, with a tiny part about the set up of the guitar amps. I for some reason had no idea Dustin Davidson was handling the really high vocals. It makes a little more sense to me now that I know that though.

Big Ol' Arbiter Update!

Arbiter have sent an email update out about the status of the new double album that's coming soon. There still isn't a concrete date, but there's a pretty lengthy description of how things are going down and the process it'll take for the album to be released. It's an entertaining read, particularly the youtube part, and it's awesome to know that things are in motion and we should all be able to hear this new material soon!

A Hero A Fake Studio Update!

I remember getting a copy of A Hero A Fake's previous album Let Oceans Lie and being pretty impressed with it. The band play a pretty solid style of progressive metalcore on par with many top tier metalcore bands. I have yet to check out their first release Volatile, but I will probably get around to it. None the less, the band have posted a studio update of the work they've done in the studio for their upcoming release The Future Again!

Quick Tool Update!

So it's been forever since the last Tool album as everyone knows, and the band has said a few times this year that they are working on the next album. However as we all probably can gather that process is going rather slowly. Tool, being one of the biggest bands in metal, can actually afford to take this long and still make tons of money. Loudwire has an article stating that Danny Cary, in a recent trip to the school of rock in LA said that the band has the framework for about 5 good songs done. So about half the album is practically written!

The band is expected to enter the studio sometime this summer to start recording with an album release expected for sometime at the end of the year. Lets hope it doesn't get pushed to early next year. We've already waited too long.

In Which I Stole A Metalsucks Title

So in light of the fact that I haven't posted much lately I decided to post a quick update on things happening around my end. It's Midterms, so things have been piling up and I haven't had much time to write on here, which leads to my next point, I became a writer for Emurg, which reviews more independent Metal and Rock, which was pretty exciting in my opinion. Whenever a review of mine gets posted there, I'll link to it on here so you guys can check it out! (Also check out the other reviews on there, some great stuff can be found!) I'm still keeping this blog because I don't do all that much independent stuff save for the Bandcamp posts, so not much will change here.

That's pretty much it.

Oh and I just bought Veil Of Maya's new CD, look for a review soon.

In The Midst Of Lions Post 2nd Studio Update!

The first studio update felt a little thrown together, but this video feels a little better overall. You get a little taste of the new album, and I have to say it sounds like it's going to be the best album from them yet. I'm very excited, and if you like Deathcore, you should be too. This will definitely be a day one purchase for me.
