The Devil Wears Prada are streaming their new album!

http://www.deadthrone.com/ <- Go here!

Although you cannot get a physical copy yet, metalcore outfit The Devil Wears Prada are streaming their newest album. This album, although I've only played it once through, is a perfect blend for fans of older material and fans of the heavier more aggressive Zombie EP they put out last year. I love both the old material and the newer heavier stuff, so this album is great in my opinion so far. I'm not sure I'd call it their best being that I haven't listened to it enough, but they did a great job with it. On a side note, this album was produced by the talented Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage and Times Of Grace, who did a great job with Unearth's album earlier this year. Also the track Constance features guest vocals from Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying, which wraps the track up awesomely.

Anyhow, give it a listen and buy the album when it officially releases on September 13th!

Crazy Stupid Love

I know this came out over a month ago now, but I just saw this film the other day. Anyhow, Steve Carell is a great actor in my opinion, and he does/did a fantastic Job on the Office, so I'm pretty much down to see anything with him in it - It also helps that Ryan Gosling is a great actor as well - So I was ready for an at least decent movie. I was happily surprised that this film has quite a few fantastic moments. The odd couple relationship between Carell and Gosling makes for some hilarious scenes. And if you are a fan of those horribly awkward but hilarious moments of the office, this film will have a few great scenes for you.

There are a few loose ends but this isn't the kind of film I'm going to criticize for not thinking every small detail through. The few dramatic parts also do a good job attaching you to the characters.

This film is far from a top list film, there isn't anything here that will blow your mind, but it's a fun film to watch and is well worth the price of admission I would say.

Leveler is August Burns Red's highest billboard debut!

I just recieved an official email from August Burns Red thanking me for buying the album, which has now become their highest debut! Great news for the band! The email also had a link for a video of Jake doing an interview with his 'crew' which is pretty hilarious. (Said video can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnIV2VdBOfY) Anyhow, if you didn't pick up Leveler, you should because it's awesome. It's got more of a progressive influence to lure in newer fans, but longtime fans needn't worry, as this album has plenty of aggressive riffs and stands up very well against Constellations, Messengers and Thrill Seeker. Key tracks: Poor Millionaire, Carpe Diem, Internal Cannon.

Congrats ABR!

Go Listen To Arbiter!

If you are a fan of Deathcore you'll want to check these guys out. I found this album a couple months ago thanks to the guys over at Total Deathcore. Colossus is an epic album, and Arbiter is currently working on two more albums, Ironclad and Machinations. (Machinations is supposed to have a more mechanical feel too it via the use of electronic drum kits, and more industrial sounds. Should be interesting.) Connor the lead vocalist has a pretty unique and awesome voice, he's got epic growls. Anyhow my favorite track on Colossus is probably Death Or Glory.

You can stream the album free here (and you can also buy it there for pretty cheap): http://arbiter.bandcamp.com/album/colossus-2010

Enjoy!

New Vader Album 9/13

On the off chance you don't already know this, Vader has a new album coming out soon. I've been pretty stoked for this album for a while. It came out in Europe already but unfortunately us Americans have to wait until September 13th to get our faces melted. Necropolis was stunning, and I'm sure this album will not disappoint.

A Work In Progress

So I'm going to try to start a blog of sorts combining two of my favorite things, Metal and Film. I'll pretty much post anything from album reviews/film reviews, to news about upcoming albums and films, and pretty much cool things in general. Anyhow on the off chance you are actually reading this I hope you enjoy what I have to say. Thanks for stopping by!

(Chances are this blog will undergo a facelift, but I gotta work a few things out still.)
