Being a 6 gentleman band does have it's perks. Arbiter, who released a dual album earlier this year are working on another pair of albums, this time though the band is split into two teams for the writing process to see how things work out and give everyone a chance to shine during writing.
Man, Ironclad/Machinations has been out for upwards of a year now. Pretty insane right? I love the album(s) and you should too. Anyhoo. I haven't reported anything from the band in a while but now we have HUGE news. They've got a new music video, and prepare yourself, it might just blow your mind. Can you smell what the Arbiter is cooking?
Ironclad/Machinations has
been a long time coming for me. It’s been well over a year in the making for
Arbiter, and it has been one of my most anticipated albums in recent memory. There’s
many levels to this album, and in the end it’s really a tale of two Arbiters.
When a band makes a bundle for their upcoming album you
typically find a shirt, or a sweater combo. Hell I thought Becoming The
Archetype was getting creative when they offered a custom pocket protector, or
August Burns Red for making rather humorous baseball cards of themselves. But
in steps Arbiter to take things to a more dedicated level, their vocalist
Connor has written a 50 page book, entitled Principia
Dua to accompany the story of their upcoming dual album Ironclad/Machinations, a venture of
which is really creative in its own right.
We're getting closer to the release of Arbiter's double album Ironclad/Machinations! It looks like January 24th is the release date, so get ready for it! The band is offering a bunch of different bundles that include a shirt, guitar picks, poster, and the album of course.
Arbiter have sent an email update out about the status of the new double album that's coming soon. There still isn't a concrete date, but there's a pretty lengthy description of how things are going down and the process it'll take for the album to be released. It's an entertaining read, particularly the youtube part, and it's awesome to know that things are in motion and we should all be able to hear this new material soon!
So if you follow my blog, even remotely, you've probably figured by now I pretty much love Arbiter. So in keeping with that, here's some more Arbiter news! Hot off the presses too! To help raise some funds for the release of the upcoming dual album Ironclad/Machinations Arbiter has released a tasty treat for fans of both their music and people like me who enjoy seeing how songs change and form over time from demo's to fully released songs.
If your not as stoked as I am for Aribter's upcoming release, there might be something wrong with you. Maybe you should see a doctor. Or just watch this final update video and maybe things will be alright. Who knows. Either way here's Arbiters studio update! the new album should be landing in a months time and pre-orders should be available soon!
So yesterday was Easter. You might have gone to church for one of the two times you'll be guilt tripped into going to this year. You probably had Dinner with your family, and maybe you went on an Easter egg hunt. I did all three, but the last one there was slightly different than normal. This year my Easter egg hunt ended with some delicious metal.
I got the chance to get on the phone with Connor and Josh from the Michigan based deathcore band Arbiter, who told me about their story, and some good details about their upcoming split album Ironclad/Machinations! Now, as I am a fan of giving people choices, so I took the time to write the entire 30 minute interview out for people to read, but you might not be fond of reading for long periods of time, or maybe you want to hear their voices, who knows the reason. The audio isn't fantastic, but it's pretty good. Anyhow, if you do choose to read the whole thing I'd recommend hopping on Spotify real quick (which is free!) or Bandcamp (also free!) and starting their previous album Colossus as it would be great background music while you read this interview!
Now with that out of the way shall we get this thing started?
2011 was a pretty damn impressive year for music. As you can see from my top albums list, which covered a majority of the best albums, but is far from containing all the albums you should have already listened too. Anyhow, I think it goes without saying that 2012 has some pretty big shoes to fill.
I've had a pretty busy weekend, but over the past two days, one of my favorite deathcore bands Arbiter released two bits of great news!
Firstly we've got album covers for both Ironclad and Machinations! Here they are:
Pretty schweet right? They look cool side by side but for some reason blogger is a huge douche about pictures and won't let me do that. (Google, you need to fix the picture formatting system.)
And that other bit of news is...
They made a Christmas EP! Awesomely titled, A Very Arbiter Christmas.
The EP has three tracks and I believe is due out 12/21. Unless that's just when the first single comes out. Either way it's awesome.

Tis' a good day for new music so far. Deathcore outfit Arbiter have posted 'Destroyer' on their facebook, which I presume is from the Machinations side of the new album due out later this year, judging from the overall sound at least. (It sounds a bit mechanical, in a good way.)
If you are a fan of Deathcore you'll want to check these guys out. I found this album a couple months ago thanks to the guys over at Total Deathcore. Colossus is an epic album, and Arbiter is currently working on two more albums, Ironclad and Machinations. (Machinations is supposed to have a more mechanical feel too it via the use of electronic drum kits, and more industrial sounds. Should be interesting.) Connor the lead vocalist has a pretty unique and awesome voice, he's got epic growls. Anyhow my favorite track on Colossus is probably Death Or Glory.
