Captain Roselyn - My Surrender Is A Victory

Captain Roselyn are a Chaotic Hardcore band hailing from Denmark, and although they are most easily labeled as a Chaotic Hardcore band it’s hard not to bring up their other influences. There’s a heavy impact from the likes of Melodic Death Metal, and modern Metalcore/hardcore like Zao, Norma Jean, and Oh, Sleeper. The band isn’t afraid of their inspirations, and make good note of where those bands succeed and blend those into their sound. However Captain Roselyn doesn’t sound like a mash of copycat sounds. They blend everything together with a heap of their own presence. They take the darker brooding atmospheres of Zao, mix it with the more chaotic tones of Norma Jean and Oh, Sleeper and throw in a spice of what I feel is pretty much a combo of doom metal and hardcore.

Check Out Dark Sermon's Video For 'Hounds'!

Dark Sermon, whose debut album In Tongues released today, have also released a new music video for the song 'Hounds'. It's a great track and the video is pretty awesome as well. These guys seem to be having a pretty solid official start to their career, and they're also hoping to be the opening act on the Summer Slaughter Tour, although Thy Art Is Murder and Rings Of Saturn are neck in neck in the lead by quite a long shot, but if Dark Sermon can make it on the Slaughter Survivors tour instead, that'd be awesome. Both tour will have insane line-ups.

Jungle Rot - Terror Regime

In an age where trend hopping and experimenting are at the fore front of metal, for better or worse, It’s kind of nice to have a band you can rely on to be consistent. Not that I don’t love when a band branches out and it’s always nice to see a band try new things, but there is something to be said for consistency. Jungle Rot’s pretty much always been this kind of a band. They have a sound carved out for themselves and eight albums in they’ve stuck with it. What you get with these guys is an old school sound combining slower groovy but heavy riffs, with blistering solo’s thrown in now and again to speed things up. Their latest effort Terror Regime continues this method.

Also Stream Bleed From Within's New Album!

Speaking of album streams, Bleed From Within are streaming their new album Uprising over at loudwire right now. Unfortunately it's not on a Youtube playlist, at least not yet, but follow this link to hear it now!

Stream The Color Morale's Entire New Album!

The Color Morale are not exactly my favorite metalcore band, but I can give them a listen now and again. Especially when said listen is for free. Right now the band is streaming their new album Know Hope on Youtube! If you're a fan of these guys, or The Devil Wears Prada, Woe Is Me, etc... definitely give this album a listen. Follow this link.

Check Out The New Killswitch Engage Song!

Killswitch Engage released a new song today from their upcoming album Disarm The Descent called 'The New Awakening'! The song is anything entirely new from the band, but it's definitely a great song. Overall Jesse is continuing his form of vocals, but trying to drop hints of clean vocals here and there to help fill the void from Howard Jones, but honestly his cleans are no where near Jones' clean vocals, he makes a good attempt though.

The Schoenberg Automaton - Vela

When I was compiling my list of top albums from last year I noted that similarly to 2011, 2012 was a pretty great year all around and both years saw some pretty monstrous deathcore releases.  Now we’re barely a quarter of the way into 2013 and I already can tell I’m going to have trouble narrowing down the list this year.

Tim Lambesis Made A New Side Project Called Pyrithion!

Tim Lambesis, the front man of the legendary As I Lay Dying, a personal favorite of mine, and of Austrian Death Machine has formed a new band called Pyrithion with members of label mates Allegaeon and ex-label mates The Famined. I've always wondered how things would go if Tim were the vocalist for a straight forward death metal band, and not surprisingly it works really well.

As They Burn Post 'Dream Collapse' Music Video!

As They Burn have made a music video for the song 'Dream Collapse' from their newest release Will, Love, Life. the video makes creative use of lighting for some rather interesting shots, as a film student I noticed the all the rolling shutter caused from the use of a digital camera, probably a DSLR, but it actually works to the benefit of the video in a way.

Super Massive Black Holes - Self Titled

When I was contacted by one of the members of Super Massive Black Holes to do a review I was not entirely sure what to expect. The name made me think of Muse, who are a pretty good band, but in no way, shape, or form would help prepare you for the music you’re about to hear. Rather Super Massive Black Holes live up to their name, as they seem to consume something from almost every subgenre of metal and beyond and mold it into something wonderful.
