This weeks entry, Derelict, should be more popular. They play proggy technical death metal, and unfortunately they are relative unknowns at the moment, but they are gaining popularity. They are currently signed to Relapse Records and have Toured with the likes of Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy, The Last Felony, Ion Dissonance, and many others.
The vocals are higher and reminds me a bit of The Black Dahlia Murder. the guitars are all over the place (in a good way), and the drums are fast as hell. The album grabs your attention and demands it stay there throughout. It's got some odd things thrown in to mix things up a bit, like the beginning of the second track Pirates and the sixth track Xenocide, and the organ part in Forth With The Herd, which actually works really well with the track and adds a lot of value to it. The atmosphere is great.
Anyhow, you can stream their album here, and from there you can also listen to their two ep's, one of which is new from this year and is also awesome.
Check em out and buy the album, or at least stream the whole thing!
Eric from Derelict here. Thanks for the review man!
