Whitechapel Post Video For 'Our Endless War'

Along with Carnifex this week, Whitechapel have posted a music video for their title track Our Endless War. This video is a live compilation of footage from shows they've played recently, that is excellently shot by the people at Naughty Mantis, who've been killing it with the videos for Whitechapel. The content isn't original since it's just a live compilation, but some of the shot choices are fantastic, especially the POV shots from the mic.

3rd Whitechapel Studio Video Posted For 'Our Endless War'!

God, I gotta give a hand to Naughty Mantis. Every one of these videos has been phenomenally put together. The shot choices and music have been spot on. This video is the third video from Whitechapel's studio sessions for the new album Our Endless War, and this video focuses on the vocal tracking for the bands front man Phil Bozeman and some of the meaning behind the lyrics he wrote on this album.

We're drawing closer and closer to the release of Whitechapel's new album, and the guys are doing a good job keeping anticipation levels high. They released the second part of a series of studio updates, this time mainly focuses on guitars, with a bit of the drums in there too. You get a great peek at some of the low tuned riffs and more technical leads they are throwing in, with a nice ambient acoustic part int here as well!

Whitechapel Post New Studio Video!

Whitechapel's new album is less than a month away now, which is most definitely exciting. The band has posted the first of a series of videos documenting the writing and recording process of the new album, and while this initial video doesn't show any new material it's still an interesting watch and Naughty Mantis productions did a fantastic job with the video. Very filmic feel to it.

Band Of The Week: I, Of Helix

I, Of Helix fall somewhere between progressive metalcore and progressive deathcore, much in the same way Within The Ruins does, and like Within The Ruins I, Of Helix places a huge emphasis on the instrumentation and writing and it's works to a great extent. Their sound is very high energy and their great musicianship shines through the album. They draw clear influences from bands like August Burns Red, Whitechapel, and as previously mentioned Within The Ruins.

New Whitechapel Song 'Mono'!

Whitechapel are inching closer to the release of their new album Our Endless War, and today they've released a new song entitled 'Mono'! This song is significantly faster than their first single 'The Saw Is The Law', and is by far more aggressive.

New Whitechapel Song 'The Saw Is The Law'!

Deathcore titans Whitechapel have been hard at work on a new album since last August, but the real details are surfacing about it now, including the cover/title and a new single! The album is titled Our Endless War and is a bit more visually interesting than their last cover, although they've definitely made a shift from their older album covers that were more conventional metal covers. The new cover is pretty clean looking for sure, also there's quite a rift with people at the moment about the second band name logo they've been using. While I do love the old logo, the new one fits this cover more and is frankly really clean looking. I think it works really well for them.

Incoming Whitechapel Song!

Whitechapel just made a post on Facebook all but confirming that a new single will drop tomorrow. Hype level is through the roof! If the hashtag is to be taken as the song title than it'll probably be called 'The Saw Is The Law'.

Hear 15 Seconds Of New Whitechapel!

Whitechapel's one of the biggest names in deathcore and fans have been patiently waiting for new material from their upcoming yet to be titled release they've been working on. While we still don't have many details and this update is not huge, it's still something to be excited about. There is a 15 second clip from a song supposedly titled 'Anxiety'. The clip mostly shows off Phil Bozeman's excellent vocal talent with a fast paced vocal verse.

Band Of The Week: The Walking Dead Orchestra

I missed last week's Band Of The Week, because of the holiday's happening, I was busy, but being that internet traffic slows during holidays i felt it might be a bit unfair to the next showcased group. So Reflections enjoyed some extra time in the spot, but this week brings in a new beast. This group I have Spotify to thank for. Spotify's discover function is a pretty average system at best, often making weird comparisons between bands, but every once in a while it absolutely nails things I'll like on the head. The Walking Dead Orchestra stood out to me as a fan of the show, but their music really has nothing to to do with the show, which is fine because the music is absolutely killer.

Band Of The Week: Silence The Messenger

Silence The Messenger are a deathcore outfit from Texas who've just recently released their debut album entitled Achilles. The band has been active since 2010 when they released their EP Buried, but their major label debut packs quite a punch and has been garnering a decent amount of attention.

Rogue Empire - Overlord

Deathcore with electronic influences is something I recall saying I did not see a big future for and felt was a gimmick. Now I am definitely far from accurate on everything I say and I am fine with being proven wrong that a certain type of music is good. In steps Rogue Empire. These guys have tons keyboards and electronic backgrounds to their sound that essentially build the atmosphere of the album in its entirety. The band are not combining dubstep and deathcore, which would likely be an atrocity, instead they are basically taking Born Of Osiris’s keyboard ideas and capitalizing on it.

Whitechapel Post New Tour Documentary!

Whitechapel, who are one of my favorite bands and made one of the best albums last year, have released a new tour documentary. The video gives some insight to life on the road and also confirms that the band is writing new material, which is awesome.

Band Of The Week: Dweller

Dweller is one of my favorite new up and coming deathcore bands. They've got an excellent blend of atmosphere and brutality and with their debut album The Reality Vector they showed that they can contend with some of the best and brightest in the genre.

I'm a huge Whitechapel fan, but I've admittedly had trouble getting into The Somatic Defilement mostly becuase the production on it wasn't that great and it compared to anything from This Is Exile and on it's hard not to listen to the later stuff. However this remastered track sounds a lot cleaner than the previous version. So I'm definitely excited to hear the rest of this remastered album!

Top 15 Albums Of 2012!

Well 2012 came and went, and I must say that with the impressive year that was 2011, 2012 was equally if not more so better for metal. I found myself constantly saying this has been a hell of a year for 'insert genre here'. Metal bands must have been trying to write their best albums to accompany the Mayan end of the world. whatever the reason, 2012 was fantastic. Which only made this list harder to pick through. There were plenty of excellent albums I wish I could put on here, but nobody really wants to read a top 30 to 50 albums list anyhow unless it's representing a decade.

Well firstly, I'm not sure how I missed it but Whitechapel made an official video for 'Possibilities Of An impossible Existence' recently, it's nothing super special, just a tour video atop music, but still the song is awesome.

Whitechapel's Ben Harclerode Does A 'Hate Creation' Drum Playthrough!

Ben Harclerode of Whitechapel has posted a drum playthrough of the bands latest single 'Hate Creation'. If you had any doubts as to Ben's abilities this video should change your mind. I was a fan of Kevin Lanes drumming, but I think Ben might just overtake him.

Whitechapel I, Dementia Music Video!

Whitechapel have posted a new music video for the track 'I, Dementia' (which happens to be one of my favorites from the album.) The video itself is pretty trippy, and definitely reminiscent of The White Stripes video for 'Seven Nation Army'.

Whitechapel - Whitechapel

Well it's here. My most anticipated album this year. I can easily say that Whitechapel are one of my favorite bands, and I'd also go as far as to say they are the best band Deathcore has to offer. I'm talking straight Deathcore. I'd personally say these guys are the best, but when you consider progressive deathcore bands the talent pool widens quite a bit. I was enjoyed This Is Exile, and to a lesser extent The Somatic Defilement, but Whitechapel really caught my attention with A New Era Of Corruption, which stands as one of my all time favorite records. So how does their fourth effort stand?
