New Divinity Track!
Divinity have posted the first bit of new music we've heard from them in three and a half years! This track is part of a release trilogy the band is titling The Immortalist Trilogy and the song is called 'The Dead Speak From Beyond'. It starts with a cool acoustic beginning and turns into a really solid melodic death piece. It's got some great heavy parts as well!

Of Mice & Men Premiere 'The Depths' Music Video!
Of Mice & Men re-isussed their last album The Flood, with four bonus tracks this year. I'm not really sure why it's called a re-issue and not just a special edition being that re-issues tend to happen after an albums been out for a while and is no longer easily available in stores, or the label wants to reignite the bands flame a bit. Anyhow, Of Mice & Men made a video for one of those bonus tracks titled 'The Depths', and it's a well made video for sure.

Top 5 EPs Of 2012
I wanted to try something this year end. It seems that, while many bands release quite a few EPs in their lifetime, few EPs are truly considered the bands best work. Often times an EP is two or three new songs with some remixes, or a single with some acoustic covers and such, but there are times when an EP is truly a masterpiece for a band. Take the Zombie EP by The Devil Wears Prada, easily their best and most focused work to date. However EPs still get overshadowed by full lengths when it comes to year end lists, and I can honestly say that with the large number of full length vying for my year end list, I probably wouldn't have put an EP on there. So in order to honor some of those EPs out there, here is a top five list.

Chariots Of The Gods Post Music Video Teaser!
Chariots Of The Gods, who posted the title track to their upcoming release Tides Of War are going to be releasing a music video for that same song on January 29th next year, it's a little far away, but for now the band has a teaser video, and you can always download the track itself to get a listen.

Continents Post First Studio Update!
UK hardcore band Continents are preparing to release their new album Idle Hands in January, but for now the band has posted a studio update, which will be the first of a series of video updates. This video highlights the drums, but the studio stuff doesn't really start until about the 3 minute mark.

Thy Art Is Murder - Hate
I never actually listened to Thy Art Is Murder until a few
weeks ago, and I am honestly not sure why. They are a band I have heard tons
about and I have always meant to check them out but never actually got around to
it. Then Hate came out and that
changed everything. Hate is a perfect
title for this album since it rivals The Acacia Strain in terms of epitomizing
the sound of Hate, although in a less lyrical comical way, but the album is
heavy and very angry. Also I don’t know what it is about Australia right now
but they are killing it in the deathcore department.

Dweller - The Reality Vector
If anyone tries to tell you deathcore is a dying genre, go ahead and ignore them. They’re really just trying to belittle a genre they don’t like for some
reason because it’s existence somehow affects the credibility of the genre’s that
deathcore is influenced by. It’s a hate I’ve never fully understood, and it’s
not something I really plan on getting into right now. Either way it doesn’t
matter much, the point is Dweller is here with their debut LP The Reality Vector to show you deathcore
is alive and well.

Moth Post A New Album Teaser!
Moth's upcoming album Endlessly In Motion is shaping up to give us a hell of a start to the new year, assuming we all survive past the 21st that is. The band has released a five minute teaser of the album which gives you plenty to chew on. If this teaser doesn't make you bite, I'm not sure what will.
Arbiter - Principia Dua
When a band makes a bundle for their upcoming album you
typically find a shirt, or a sweater combo. Hell I thought Becoming The
Archetype was getting creative when they offered a custom pocket protector, or
August Burns Red for making rather humorous baseball cards of themselves. But
in steps Arbiter to take things to a more dedicated level, their vocalist
Connor has written a 50 page book, entitled Principia
Dua to accompany the story of their upcoming dual album Ironclad/Machinations, a venture of
which is really creative in its own right.

Woe, Is Me - Genesi[s]
Metalcore is quite the umbrella term. It’s a genre title so
loosely defined it’s hard to really tell what a metalcore fan likes. I was introduced
to metal via metalcore but the genre has evolved and changed a lot in that
time. Woe, Is Me are on the newer more poppy side of things, which rose in
popularity thanks to the likes of A Day To Remember, Asking Alexandria or Close
To Home. I wouldn’t call any of those bands personal favorites, and Genesi[s] won’t be making me a Woe, Is
Me die hard anytime soon, but this band is definitely the best of the that
group in my opinion, but unfortunately it wouldn’t appear that’s the case for the
rest of the world. Woe, Is Me is to metalcore what Motionless In White is to
deathcore, neither are the kings of the genre and tend to take a lot of flak for
being too poppy or ‘radio friendly’ but they show signs of talent.

Moth Release New Song 'Dissolved'!
Sorry for the absence the last few days, thing have been getting busy round these parts. Anyhow, the bit you came here for: Denver's finest Moth are preparing to release their debut full length Endlessly In Motion here in January, but for the time being the band have released a new song entitled ' Dissolved' and it's definitely something you need to check out.

In Reverence - Hallucinations
It’s hard to stand out in a genre as crowded and popular as
Deathcore, but the internet has its ways of pushing the best bands up to the
surface and getting their names out there. In Reverence is one such band. They
aren’t too widely known but I have a feeling things are going to be looking up
for them.
The band’s sound is a best described as culmination of the
best parts of Whitechapel, Carnifex, and Impending Doom. Heavy hitting
atmospheric deathcore with a tad bit of The Last Felony-esque technicality. If
that concoction sounds good to you then you should get onto listening to the band’s
first outing Hallucination.
The Sword Made A Video For 'The Veil Of Isis'!
The Sword's new album is pretty solid overall. If you're a fan of the band you'll have not trouble enjoying it. Today the band posted a a music video for the song 'Veil Of Isis' as far as music videos go this one is pretty interesting and as you might expect pretty trippy. I'm not sure the video is trying to get a moral across or not but at least whoever made it understands the rule of three and did a great job in terms of production. Also the guy in the video looks a lot like William Murderface from Dethklok minus the hairdo.

Within The Ruins Sign On With eOne/Goodfight Records!
Congrats to Within The Ruins for getting signed to eOne/Goodfight. They now join the likes of Impending Doom, Chimaira, Darkest Hour, and High On Fire to name a few. Hopefully this signing will get them to release that new album finally.
A Million Dead Birds Laughing Vocalist Taking A Hiatus
I had the great pleasure of reviewing Xen from A Million Dead Birds Laughing earlier this year, and if you have the chance you should check out their albums as they are awesome.
Chelsea Grin Made A Video For 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'!
It's no secret that Chelsea Grin's latest work with the Evolve ep is their best work to date. The band has released a video for the final track on Evolve entitled 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'. The video itself isn't super special, and if you didn't like the front man for being a bit on the scene side of things appearance-wise this video won't help change your mind. However it's shot on the Salt Flats, which is one of the coolest places to shoot and always makes for a great location.
Also Jason Richardson. 'nuff said.

Dweller Release 'Foreseen Servitude' Video!
Dweller, whose album The Reality Vector just released a little over two weeks back have just released a music video for the song 'Foreseen Servitude'! The video does a good job using camera tricks to insinuate a crazy surgery, with shots of the band playing inter-cut here and there. It's a dark video, but well done and the song is awesome.

Becoming The Archetype's Seth Hecox Goes Folk!
Here's quite a change for you, Seth Hecox the guitarist for Becoming The Archetype is going to be releasing a Folk album with Brandon Michael Williams. It's a rather interesting choice, and from the song on their bandcamp page it's pretty well done at that. Seth isn't leaving Becoming The Archetype, just doing a solo project.

Ill NiƱo - Epidemia
When I recieved Ill NiƱo's latest album Epidemia, I have to admit I was a bit hesitant about it. I try to be open minded musically and say I
will pretty much give any chance, but I have to say that going into this I had
a pre-conceived notion that I would not really enjoy this album, but I have to say there is
something about Epidemia that is pretty enjoyable.
Mitch Lucker Has Passed Away
This news has surfaced all over the place but in case you missed it Mitch Lucker of the band Suicide Silence has passed away after a motorcycle accident. Regardless of what you or I may have thought of the band this is tragic news for many reasons aside from the music scene. He leaves behind a wife and a 5 year old daughter.

Underoath Premiere A New Song!
Sadly Underoath haven't changed their plans to break up next year, but in the mean time they are releasing a greatest hits album with some new material on it. The band has debuted one new track called 'Sunburnt' which you can find by clicking this. The song is pretty solid, although it's a little 'lighter' sounding than most of the material on their last album.
When the song gets leaked to youtube, I'll be sure to post it here. In the meantime, thanks to Billboard for posting the track.

The Acacia Strain - Death Is The Only Mortal
The Acacia Strain are back. I have been itching for this album
for a while, and now that it is here I can say with assurance that this album
is about as close to everything I wanted it to be as it could be. It is a
continuation of their already well-established sound with improvements across
the board.

Lynchmada Release New Single 'Immerser'!
I don't know a whole lot about Lynchmada, but their new single 'Immerser' is pretty intriguing. The song is produced by the fantastic producer Zeuss, who has worked with numerous bands like Shadows Fall, The Acacia Strain, Impending Doom, and many others. Lynchmada's new single is a solid song, however I don't believe it's from an upcoming album since the band just released To The Earth late last year.
Anyhow, you can stream the track over at puregrainaudio.com.
Meshuggah Posted A Video For 'Demiurge'!
If you by some strange event haven't heard Koloss yet, you're really missing out on some top tier music. Anyhow, Meshuggah have made a music video for their song 'Demiurge'. The video itself itsn't anything particularly new being that it's just video of the band playing live, but it's a nice way to see up close the band members playing on stage. Plus the on the mic shots are pretty cool.

New Parkway Drive Song!
Parkway Drive have released the first single from their upcoming album Atlas. The song is titled 'Old Ghosts / New Regrets'. I was a pretty big fan of Deep Blue and to be honest I haven't listened to this band in quite sometime, but this song doesn't really do a whole lot to get me really excited for the album. It's a pretty solid track, but it's in no way better than their previous material. Here's to hoping they experimented a little on the rest of the album. I've respected the fact that they are honest with themselves and their music, but honesty will only get you so far if you're re-hashing a bit. I will say though that they're still going pretty solid with writing catching choruses, and Winston's vocals are a awesome as ever.
The Haunted Lose Another Two Members
I really hope I'm wrong on this one, but after reading this news, I'm afraid we may see the end of The Haunted soon. Vocalist Peter Dolving left the group a few months back and since then they've been searching for a new vocalist, but as of today it would appear that one of the Bjƶrler brothers, Anders, and Per Mƶller Jensen, have left the band. It's tough losing one member, but three fifths of the band? That's a whole other story. Now it's not impossible fo rthe two remaining members to keep things up, and I would love to see how that would go, but I'm seeing grey clouds in the sky unfortunately.

Fall City Fall Sign With Victory Records!
Fall City Fall have just been signed to Victory Records this week, which adds a pretty solid band to their artist lineup. Fall City Fall play a style of chaotic hardcore/metalcore in the vein of The Chariot, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Exotic Animal Petting Zoo with inspirations from the likes of As I Lay Dying and August Burns Red. So if you're into those bands definitely give these guys a chance.

As I Lay Dying - Awakened
So As I Lay Dying hit the 10 year mark last year, but thankfully they didn't shell out an album real quick to mark the occasion, instead they released an EP with three pretty solid new songs on it. This gave us a taste of what would be coming on the next album and satiated our palates for the time being. Now the time has come for their fifth studio album, Awakened, to be released. So obviously with a band this big, the question is ‘how does it hold up?’

Carnifex Are Taking A Break
Carnifex have announced plans to go on a hiatus after they finish up their current tour. the band states it's for a number of reasons, and want to make clear they are still a band. It could be that like many bands out there the finances aren't amazing and they need to work for a bit with a job that pays better, or maybe they just need a break. I doubt this will be the last we hear from the band, but for now they won't be doing much.

Three More Leaked Dethklok Songs!
As October 16th looms closer and closer, I'm getting more and more excited for Dethalbum III. To help quench my thirst for new Dethklok a commenter on this post by the name of Alan has shown me that the person who uploaded the previous leaked song Andromeda, who goes by the name bdwasuka, has also uploaded three more songs from the album! The songs are in the same quality, which is due to the fact that they are recorded from a podcast, so it's not necessarily the recorders fault the podcast may just be compressed, but fear not the songs are in a listenable state.

Underoath To Break Up Next Year
here's a bit of sad news, and a bit unexpected, Underoath are going to call it quits after an Anthology release (featuring two new songs which is nice) and a farewell tour. Underoath was one of the first bands I listened to that set me on the road to metal, so in a way I owe them a lot of thanks for my music taste as it is now. I had feared this day might come when Aaron left the band but I was happy to see them go on without him, but alas it would appear the band feels it's right to break up now. The bands press release doesn't give too many details as too necessarily why they are breaking up, but in any case 15 years, 7 albums, and 1.3 million record sales is quite a solid career. Here's to hoping them the best.
Anaal Nathrakh Get Crazier
Anaal Nathrakh are essentially the definition of extreme metal. A combination of crazy fast music with vocals that tend towards the insane. You do have to question whether the band members are crazy, or just mad geniuses. Anyhow, this new track is called 'Forging Towards The Sunset' and it's from their upcoming album Vanitas.

You Might Be In This Wretched Video!
Wretched have released a music video of sorts for the song 'Karma Accomplished' off their latest album Son Of Perdition, which if you haven't checked out by now you definitely should because it's easily one of the best deathcore releases this year. The video is a combo of mostly tour footage combined with some footage of vocalist Adam Cody on a rooftop performing the vocals for the song. If you've been at a Wretched show recently you might just be in the video for a mere second. So give it a look, and if you haven't, the song is great anyhow.

Pathology - The Time Of Great Purification
Pathology have been around for 6 years and have released 5 albums in that time, including this weeks release of The Time Of Great Purification, and basic math tells us comes to almost an album a year. These gents are quite busy suffice to say it, and like any well to do metal band they tour pretty non stop. I didn't really start listening to them until last years release Awaken To Suffering, and by listening I should say I gave them a quick listen but have never been truly drawn into them.
Someone Recorded And Leaked A New Dethklok Track!
God it's a great day for new music it seems. Someone recorded and leaked a new track from Dethklok's upcoming album Dethalbum III. The track is titled 'Andromeda', I'm not sure if it's from the recording quality or not but the vocals are a tad hard to discern, and the quality isn't studio quality, but hey it's listenable and it's Dethklok, so enjoy it or else.
