So it was recently revealed that Michael Bay would be working on a new entry into the Tennage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. He also mentioned that he is effectively changing the origin story altogether. The turtles are now an alien race, which opens up doors for more than four turtles, and loads of other possibilities.
However, where Bay see's gold, fans see another chance for a terrible movie. The twist here is that Peter Laird, one of the original TMNT writers is completely on board with Bay. He's been trying to create a fifth turtle for a while now, and was happy to embrace this new story in order to do so. You can check out his blog here to see his full post on the subject.
I'm going to remain skeptical for now, or at least until I see a trailer. Ihave a feeling many people will hate the movie outright just because Michael Bay is attached to it. I don't mind him as a director, he's a popcorn director yes, but his films are at least fun to watch. We'll see what the future holds.
